Meet the Coach
Morgan MIller-Charles
Coach Morgan grew up swimming in Fernley and is excited to bring competitive swimming opportunities back to the community that helped shape her own athletic journey.
After years of club swimming success, Morgan went on to compete on scholarship at the NCAA Division I level at San Jose State University, where she competed at national-level meets, became a WAC Champion, received multiple Academic All-American honors, and earned placement on the university's all-time Top 10 list in several events.
With 6+ years of coaching experience, Morgan has worked with swimmers ranging from beginners to national-level competitors. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to train and coach under Olympic-level coaches, helping shape her athlete-centered coaching philosophy.
Morgan believes swimming provides far more than athletic success—it offers a sense of belonging and develops confidence, discipline and resilience. Desert Surge Swim Club represents an opportunity to give back to the Fernley community and help rebuild something meaningful for the next generation of swimmers.
